Tim Shurr, MA, CI, CH, is Founder of Indy Hypnosis and the state-accredited Hypnotism Academy of Indiana. He is a world-renowned expert in Hypnotherapy and Neuro-Linguistics and has hypnotized over 30,000 people from around the world! Tim has taught hypnotism courses across the country, as well as in London. Tim’s journey began at the age of 12 when his father was severely burned during an explosion at US Steel. His father survived, yet it left Tim with horrible anxiety. He decided to pursue psychology to “figure himself out.” During that time, he discovered first-hand the POWER of hypnosis.
“A hypnotherapist came to our school, and I volunteered to be hypnotized. I half expected to start clucking like a chicken. Instead, the constant knot of anxiety that was always lodged in my stomach disappeared. It was the first time in my whole life when that fearful feeling wasn’t there. It was just gone!”
He went on to receive a BA (Bachelor’s Degree) in psychology from Indiana University and an MA (Master’s Degree) from Valparaiso University. He became a certified trainer for the Master Hypnotist Society, the National Guild of Hypnotists, and the National Federation of Neuro-Linguistic Programming.
Tim was awarded the 2013 President’s Award from the International Medical and Dental Hypnotherapy Association, the 2011 Hypnotist of the Year from the Mid-America Convention, and the 2009 Ormond McGill (Best of the Best) award from the National Guild of Hypnotists, among others.
In 2025, Tim co-starred in the multi-award-winning film Zero Limits alongside Dr. Joe Vitale, John Assaraf, and many other top experts in personal development.
